With a more robust look than ever, the Toyota Hiace 2022 remains one of the most reliable vans for families in Liberia. With the sixth generation update in February 2019, the Hiace name has undergone major changes on the exterior and interior. The new Hiace 2022 has more space inside the cabin.
As for the design, the huge spotlights are combined with a huge grill with horizontal slats. The Hiace is also available in Cargo and Commuter configurations, allowing businesses to use the Hiace to transport people and other equipment. However, the trims come with a gear stick on the dashboard, the GL Grandia variants come with a touch screen.
Engine
The new Hiace is powered by a 2.8-litre 1GD diesel engine, which is the same as the Fortuner. The power depends on the variant; 176 hp and 420 Nm of torque for the Commuter Deluxe; 176 hp and 450 Nm of torque for the GL Grandia. The Toyota Hiace 2022 comes equipped with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. However, the Commuter and Hiace Cargo carry the familiar 3.0-litre diesel engine used in their predecessors.
Technology
As for infotainment, the GL Grandia trim level has an audio system with a screen with CD, DVD, MP3, FLAC with AUX, USB, Bluetooth and mirroring technology for smartphones. The mirroring function comes from Toyota's proprietary T-link system, which can mirror Apple and Android devices.

The interior of the Hiace 2022 has a beige theme for the Grandia variants or a black theme for the Commuter Deluxe variant. The seats can be cloth or vinyl leather, while the seating configuration is 12, 14 or 15 seats, depending on the variant.
Safety
The Hiace 2022 comes with standard safety features such as ABS, dual front airbags, individual passengers. The Commuter Deluxe has an additional center airbag for the center passenger. The GL Grandia and GL Grandia Tourer feature hill start assist, brake assist, vehicle stability control, and rear parking sensors.
